Why do it?
What do you think about spaying or neutering your pet? A lot of people don't like to do it. My family has always spayed/neutered every pet we have owned. I've never really known the advantages to doing it, I've just been told that it's a good thing to do.
I ended up doing some research on this because I wanted to know what it actually did for the pet. What I found was quite interesting. Some of the these things I found include:
*It is absolutely NOT NECESSARY for a female to have a litter first. In fact, it increases health risks and contributes to the overpopulation crisis.
*Over 10 million animals are killed each year in shelters or by accidents, poisoning, starvation or disease. Many of these animals are unwanted due to the companion animal overpopulation crisis.
*All animals will benefit with improved health. (for specifics, check out the site.)
I found these here. If you know any other advantages, please share them in the comment box!
